
Under Operation Faithful Patriot, the Department of Defense deployed over 5,200 active-duty military personnel, combat engineers, and aviation units to bolster Customs and Border Protection infrastructure ahead of approaching migrant caravans.
Logistical and Engineering Support Mandate
In accordance with Posse Comitatus restrictions, military forces were deployed strictly in logistical, engineering, and medical support roles. Military engineers installed miles of concertina wire, established mobile barricades at legal border crossings in Texas and Arizona, and operated transport helicopters to ferry CBP tactical teams along rugged border corridors.
